Men's Club
All good things must come to an end, so must the Men's fall season. The Men's team ended the season with a 0-0 tie to Upper 90 and a 2-1 win over Rojo Vulcan. With goals coming from Joel Ramirez and Steven Frees. Honda Satoshi fed Joel the ball on the right side and Joel Drove the ball high into the near corner. In the second half Jay Li shot the ball and hit the cross bar, Steven Frees crashed the back side and finished the rebound. The win over Rojo Vulcan secured a second place finish in Division 2, finishing only 2 points behind Rojo Vulcan. The team also finished with the fewest goals allowed with 13, and most goals scored with 23, in the division.
Mitch Carre lead the team in points and goals, with 6 goals and 4 assists, and has the best penalty kick anyone has ever seen, WIDE right. Chris Wilmas finished second with 5 goals and 4 assists. Honda Satoshi lead the team in assists with 5. Dave Krzywanski led the team in times hit by friendly fire finishing the season strong with 78. Kareem Lane led the team in hand balls for penalty kicks with 2. Eddie Whalen and Joel Ramirez lead the team in ejections, with one a piece. Doug Archer wins the award for best hand ball/chicken wing in the box. Evan Floyd was finally taught the correct way to slide tackle, one foot only Evan. Kola Aremu is getting slower and slower, a cheetah with a rocket strapped to its back is now safe. Steven Frees has the best goal scoring percentage on the team. The three times he played striker he scored, not bad for a keeper. Nishiya Shimpei always plays better when he shows up late because he was playing golf, we are just happy he shows up. Speaking of showing up has anyone seen Jeremy Jenkins, if so contact the number on the back of the milk carton. As for Trace Donahue, we are just glad you occasionally show up, this way Steven can play striker and score some goals. Justin Watkins wins the award for best goal keeper for the opposition, thanks for filling in against Reccos. Jay Li, we are all glad you headed the ball in for a goal as opposed to finding the post with your face. Last but not least Bob Lasagna, part of the 136 crew, and the biggest pain in the butt, hope your Sciatic nerve gets better. All kidding aside, thanks to everyone for a great season, your wisdom and friendship. A special thank you to those that come out and supported the team during the season. The next season will start in March. Until then the Men's team will have pre-season games and practices. Check back for updates and schedule postings.
The Men's team will be playing a pre-season game against O.S.R.P.S. on December 7th at 2pm at the Clay Soccer fields.
